The whole house radiates from a single round room: a clerestory-lit rotunda with a center fountain, ringed by the kitchen, a grand piano, and the bar, with a vaulted living room and a casual dining wing stepping off it under their own beamed roofs. Outside, a curved stone planter wall wraps a cobblestone motor court, and an open timber trellis shades the patio between the round tower and the garage.
Round House commits fully to its plan: a single circular rotunda forms the heart of the house, a ring of clerestory windows washing light down onto a center fountain and radial timber beams overhead. The kitchen, the grand piano, and the bar all wrap around that fountain rather than sitting in separate rooms, so the core of the house reads as one continuous, curved space. The kitchen carries the circular logic even further, with a round island and its pot rack set dead center and a curved bar counter following the room's own geometry rather than fighting it.
Stepping off the rotunda, the living room and the casual dining wing each sit under their own exposed-beam roofs: a more everyday counterpoint to the drama of the round room. The living room lines one wall with windows to the garden and the other with a fireplace and bar cabinet; the dining wing sets a long farm table beside a bar counter, a fireplace and wine racks built into the wall. Outside, the same geometry announces itself before you reach the door. A cobblestone motor court sweeps past a curved stone planter wall, a timber trellis shades the patio between the garage and the tower, and the round roof with its band of clerestory windows rises above it all.
